Folks, the hats are in.

Anyone who grabbed an annual membership should be receiving theirs this week. There’s still time to get a Founding Member hat (sneak peek: the newsletter will likely move entirely paid in the new year, so if you’re on the fence—might as well).

Need: New York Events

Here are three events you need to hit.

Martel Bespoke Trunk Show — November 14 & 15, Maritime Hotel
Simon Martelo is a tailor from Colombia I’ve followed on and off for a while. His suiting is relaxed, the fabrics are great, and I’m always drawn to one particular jacket he makes.

Edward Gorey Art Show & Cocktail Bar — Oct 4, 2025 – Jan 3, 2026, Society of Illustrators
Gorey was an American illustrator and playwright—his work is whimsical without losing depth. I particularly love how he depicted people. His show at the Society of Illustrators (UES) comes complete with a Gorey-style bar serving Negronis, Old Fashioneds, the works. Thank me later when your date is impressed by your “knowledge of the arts.”

Decorum x J. Muser Pop-Up — J. Muser, 19 Christopher Street — November 12, 6–9 PM
This one weirdly no longer has a digital footprint, so double-check before trekking to the West Village. But one of my favorite menswear brands from Bangkok of all places (Lot of Men in Bangkok ;) is popping up with another of my NYC favorites J. Muser. Worth checking out.

Read & Wrote (Bonus)

A two-for!

I wrote a longer-format piece for some freelance work—unfortunately, for understandable reasons, we couldn’t run it. But expect to see some cool work coming from other channels soon.

Fortunately for you, at Outpost I’m judge, jury, and executioner. Here are my thoughts on reservations, enjoy.

Read: Airport Outfits By Blazer

This comes from another newsletter (it’s all love in the newsletter game), but their recent piece on airport outfits deserves to be shouted from the rooftops. Don’t gloss over it.

Ate: Downtown vs. Uptown

Tuesday, I went back to Bar Fedora, a place most people have foolishly overlooked—myself included. On the heels of that reservations piece, it feels right to highlight a restaurant doing everything it can to stay neighborhood-focused, even if it means skipping the trends that might make more money. They deserve the praise.

Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for Jean-Georges at The Mark. With Mom in town for brunch, I opted for a 4 top at the Mark a place where the stakes are pretty high. Unfortunately they didn’t rise to the occasion: Drinks were missed, appetizers came with entrées few party fouls to say. The setting is a 10/10, and I rarely write critical notes on restaurants because I love them dearly…but at that price point, execution has to match the atmosphere

PSA:
I’m hosting a friends-and-family dinner at an undisclosed members’ club (lol) to celebrate the launch of Outpost on the 20th. If you’ve made it this far into the newsletter, I consider you family—and you’re invited. Reach out for details.

Have a great week, folks.
