Knock, Knock, Guests of Room 207! The drinks you called for have arrived…
Room 207 is just that, a room at 207 2nd Avenue or somewhere on the East side of the city. A light tap on a bookcase door gains you entry to its four red walls. Its mirrors give space to the tight quarters while its drinks bring closeness among its guests.
The breakthroughs and craftsmanship at Room 207 are why we peel ourselves from our couches and let cold, January air nip at our faces. The dedication to the art of cocktails and the courage to take risks are reasons enough to bundle yourself and enter a room we’ve never seen before. Room 207 was brought to life by Rajesh Bhardwaj, with the guidance of seasoned mixologist Hemant Pathak and Michelin-star chef Akshay Bhardwaj.
In the new year, we ache to feel or taste something different - something to hit our taste buds and mark our new chapters. As humans it’s our right to evolve so we therefore crave change. The same Old Fashioned may have satisfied a former version of ourselves, but now it doesn’t fill our cups the same. Room 207 applies science, art and love to your standard drink. Their Old Fashioned has butter washed bourbon and a monogrammed ice cube flown in from Japan, according to our server. If you just turned the page and your mind is searching for new discovery, Room 207 is where you’ll find it.
The bartenders play with the temperatures of the drinks, like little science experiments, to give them unique textures. They freeze the water in the mezcal drink, El Diablo, to give it a bubbly champagne consistency. In the rum Flip, they heat the foam while chilling the rum so you get an interesting sensation when you take a swig.
The bartenders, dressed in white double breasted jackets, strike intentional movements behind the bar, and are eager to refill your buttery bread rolls so you can continue enjoying the flavorful and spicy dip platter.
You will also find your name written in cursive on a delicate place card at the center of your table - a sweet and subtle touch to show you how welcome you are. If you’re entering this new year craving nontraditional ways and spice in your life, be guests at Room 207.
