Past few weeks have been mayhem, as the start of summer typically is. Warm weather kicks in and my brain immediately goes to: time to eat, time to drink, time to travel. Alongside that, it’s been chaotic with the launch of Blackbird’s second summer out East. At this point I should have bought a commuter pass on the LIRR.
All of that is to say, looking at the Outpost feed, it reads a bit chaotic too — albeit filled with some good stuff.
An invitation to our West Village block party next week to celebrate 1 year of Outpost.
A ton of great stuff from our contributors. Top Ten Wines By Emma Kistler, 5 Whiskey Cocktails By Tanya Markoff … List goes on.
With all that, let’s get back to our roots. Feature, Need, Read, Follow, Ate.

We’re excited to bring another Outpost contributor into the fold. Fitzgerald has followed Outpost for a long time and approached John and I with the “I get what Outpost is” attitude.
A resident of Charleston, Ryan kicked things off with another city guide for our publication. Having gone to school at the Harvard of the South, CofC, and calling Charleston home for four years myself, it’s a place I hold near and dear to my heart. This was an important one to get right and he nailed it.
Check it out.
Need: Yogurt Bowls (The Scratchy Scratchy Kind)
My apartment is ~finished~. All the walls are adorned, the bookshelves hung, and my Amex is smoking like a gun after a 300 peg hunt.
Naturally, my brain goes to, “Well now I gotta upgrade the plates and bowls.”
Sure, we could use some pillows here, a lamp there. You’re never really finished, I suppose. But with strawberries in full bloom at the UWS farmers market, I truly do need some good yogurt bowls — the ones that go scratchy scratchy.
I took to Instagram to ask “the chat,” a method that never really fails. Y’all rock.
Here are my two top choices.

Read (Listened To): Scott Pelley Interview
We don’t do politics on Outpost, so lets try and leave that out of this. That aside, I’ve grown up on 60 Minutes. I think there’s no better way to lead into the weekend. I’ll add that one of the reporters follows me on Instagram, which is probably one of the biggest social media highlights of my year — outside of maybe Alexis Texas liking a reel of mine a few months back. (Not sure who that is? Ask your boyfriend.)
Anyways I have such fond memories of the fire roaring, something cooking, and that iconic stopwatch ticking.
“IM BILL WHITAKER.” QUIET. MY SHOW’S ON.
Anyways, it sucks to see what’s happened to what I consider one of the last bastions of journalism and reporting. I was taken back by Scott Pelley’s first interview after being fired. I’ll admit he was dramatic at times, but regardless of where you fall on the topic, it’s worth a listen if only to hear his command of the English language.
Follow: HAITCH
After the publishing of our “How to Dress for a Wedding” piece, the folks over at Haitch reached out. Seems they agree with my position that jackets should stay on for the majority of the evening.
To take it a step further, Harry Tillman and Nate Pozin are on a mission to create bespoke — and later off-the-rack — pieces that are both comfortable enough and fashionable enough for an evening at a wedding, the 9-to-5 at the office, and everything in between.
The other week I popped by their Garment District studio.
Harry and Nate could not be better dudes. Harry is the dialed-in British lad and Nate the Newport Beach native who absolutely oozes California cool. The two met while tailoring at Thom Sweeney, the legendary Savile Row newcomer.
They set out to create their own line in 2024 and have already made strides in both Los Angeles and New York, dressing some huge names.
We talked about everything from building brands, to proper menswear, to the potential for an Outpost collaboration in the fall 👀.
Keep an eye on all the above.
Ate: Brand Dinners
Something must have clicked on the ole internet because all of a sudden the phone’s ringing.
Want to come to this dinner? Want to come to that dinner? For the time being, sure.
Knightsbridge Wine Dinner
It’s amazing to meet folks like John Bailey, who is taking the reins on his family’s vineyard and producing some kick-ass wines.
Vilebrequin
It’s a bit of a pinch-me moment to be sitting at a dinner for Vilebrequin, and getting a bag filled with goodies by a brand my pops and I have always loved but could rarely justify spending the exorbitant price tag on. Stoked on this suit
Jamagansett
And last but not least, it’s incredible to be given the opportunity to meet lovely people like Lena, the founder of Jamagansett who is a literal badass building her own jam company in Amagansett.
So for now, we will go humbly, report back, and not lose sight of the best tables those with friends, family, and the people you love.
Happy Father’s Day, friends.
Cheers,
Ryan
