Hello Outpost Friends, how the hell are you?
We are in full summer mode over here at Outpost HQ (which in my imagination is a fantastical beach bungalow where Ryan and I are chained to antique type writers) and we are intent on getting you as much written and social content as possible over the next three months.
My June so far has been pleasant. I have abandoned the trout rivers in favor of finding striped bass in Long Island Sound.
My cats, Cleo and Snowman, are getting more puddle-like by the day as temperatures increase.
My wife, Georgie, just returned from a jaunt to Europe and the UK to visit family, and I used the time as any bachelor would—burning meat and drinking cheap beer.
Suffice to say, summer has kicked off just the way I would expect.
Beyond updating you on the liquid-gaseous-solid state of my cats, I wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow, Thursday, June 25th, is the first Outpost event of the summer!
To celebrate our one-year anniversary, we have partnered with the folks over at Ranger Station for a West Village block party. We will have 100 custom Outpost cigars, the bartender from Bar Pisellino mixing Negronis and Aperol Spritzes, and a DJ spinning vinyl for your listening pleasure.
As Ryan so eloquently put it: “We’ve got merch, we’ve got booze, we’ve got candles from Ranger Station, cigars on the sidewalk, and a kick-ass DJ—all the makings of a good time.”
When: Thursday, June 25th
Where: Ranger Station, West Village
Time: 6–8 PM
Address: 315 Bleecker Street
RSVP: info@outpostnyc.co
Even if it’s just to say hello, please swing by. It’s been an exceptionally fun and surprising year, and we couldn’t have done it without all of you.
Besides, we owe you for putting up with these incessant updates…
More to come,
John Sargent
